Papa Mama and Dr Ultra

There are countless ways to unwind after a week of hard work, one of which is enjoying Happy Hour drinks with a good friend. A couple of Fridays ago, after a jam packed week of back to back shows, happy hour was calling. We enjoy checking out new places especially if there are good beer deals and a chilled atmosphere. We found ourselves around the Puchong area and rather than braving the jam to head back home, we thought we’d stay put and check out a place nearby. Papamama came highly recommended by a friend so we decided to have our happy hour drinks there.

As we were approaching, I saw Dr Ultra car wash at the end of the street and thought I’d drop my car there while I had my drinks as it was in quite serious need of a good wash. (as it usually is)

We dropped the car at Dr Ultra and headed to Papamama’s just a couple of blocks away.

We were there at about 530pm and took a table outside before the crowd came in.

There’s a lounge area as you enter Papamama with big comfy chairs. I wanted to get a table here but I planned on having food and thought the low tables might not be ideal so we settled for the high table outside.

The bar and lounge area are at the front of the restaurant whilst there is a dining area and an open kitchen concept at the back.

If you’re looking for a spot to take your Instagram photos, I think this might be it!

There’s a pretty spacious dining area at the back of the restaurant with an open kitchen giving you a good view of the hustle happening behind the scenes while you enjoy your meal!

The happy hour deal at Papamama is fantastic and it’s happy hour all night long! We got to Papamama pretty early before the crowd but by 7pm the place was pretty packed. It’s clearly a neighbourhood favourite!

Nachos are one of my weaknesses, and sometimes I get sudden cravings for cheesy nachos. I had been dreaming of nachos for a little while so this came at a perfect time!

We also ordered a sizzling plate of Fajitas which were excellent.

The Fajitas came with Salsa, Guacamole, and shredded cheese on the side.

These were so good we ordered more bread because we ran out! The beef was succulent and cooked to perfection.

This was the breakdown of our bill for the night.

In total we paid just a little more than a hundred ringgit for 6 pints of beer, Nachos and Fajitas. The beer promotion is good value for money and Nachos for RM 15.90 is pretty cheap as well considering the quality and portion size. I can see why Papamama is so popular and I would say it is well worth a trip to Puchong despite being quite a distance from where I live. After our dinner, I headed over to Dr Ultra to pick up my car. The interior of my car smelled really fresh and fruity and the scent lasted for a week after! Impressed!

It cost me RM 14 to have the exterior and interior washed and vacuumed.
